Chair of Governors
My name is Vicky Etheridge and I have been on the Governing Body since 2010 and before that I was a member of the Interim Executive Body in 2007 /8. I have been Chair since April 2014 and was vice-chair for a number of years before that.
I first came onto the Governing Body having been a member of the Interim Executive Board (IEB) in 2007/8. I was asked by the County Council to join the IEB as at the time I was running a Neighbourhood Management programme in Fairstead and other parts of King’s Lynn. When I first joined the IEB and then the Governing Body it felt like a lot of the papers were written in another language! However through my work I knew a bit about Fairstead and some of the challenges that families and children face so I was keen to do what I could to ensure that they have a great school.
I’ve been connected to the School and / or on the Governing Body for 11 years now and have seen the School transformed! I really enjoy my visits to School; talking to The School Council, class teachers and leaders for particular subjects and specialisms and of course the Head Teacher and the Senior Team; I learn something every time I visit and always go away feeling inspired and proud to be part of this School.
