The Big Idea

Feedback, when implemented well, can have dramatic effect on learner progress with little opportunity cost. The EEF report published in 2021 on Feedback states that high quality feedback can be the cause of an accelerated 7 months progress in a Primary Setting.

The picture above gives ideas of Content, Method, Timing and Audience of feedback. Notably, feedback for our learners also needs to take place around emotional self regulation (see challenge for Growth Mindset ideas), and promoting positive learning behaviour as well as academic content and acquisition of skills.
